Introduction: Information Systems (IS) in the Nursing Process (NP) have contributed positively to care and management records. Studies on the implementation of an IS in Nursing documents indicate that the quality of records significantly improves security, reduces risks and contributes to the efficiency of Nursing work. Objective: To understand the impact of information systems on the continuity of Nursing care and understand the advantages of IS for the continuity of Nursing care. Method: Following the PCC strategy (problem, concept and context), the Boolean phrase was created, studies were selected in Portuguese or English and from the last 5 years. The search was carried out in the CINAHL Complete and MEDLINE Complete databases until November 2023. In addition to the databases, a free search was carried out on the Google Scholar platform and manual searches of references in the selected literature. Guided by the recommendations of the Cochrane Rapid Reviews Methods Group, the preparation used the rapid review methodology. Results: 65 articles were identified in the databases. After applying the inclusion criteria, 7 articles were selected. The results obtained from the studies analysed highlight the trends, challenges and benefits associated with the use of information systems in nursing. Conclusions: Studies highlight the advantages of IS for the continuity of Nursing care. The availability of accessible and up-to-date electronic records can improve coordination between different phases of the care process, contributing to a more comprehensive and user-centered approach.
