Abstract

Introduction: Reproductive health care for immigrant women should receive special attention, as women on the move may present some vulnerabilities. Objectives: Discuss the narrative of Brazilian immigrants living in Portugal about their experiences of health care during childbirth. Material and methods: The Netnographic method served as a methodological contribution to this study, through the observation of a social network group on Facebook – BRAZILIAN WOMEN WHO LIVE IN PORTUGAL. The narratives about the birth experience of Brazilian immigrant women in Portugal were extracted, resulting in a total of 65 reports in the sample. The reports were organized following the guidelines of Minayo (2007). Results: Four themes emerged: 1) All a dream needs to be realized is someone who believes in it, 2) There is no exaggeration in the world more beautiful than gratitude, 3) The difference between success and failure is working with competence, 4) There is nothing harder than the softness of indifference. Given the themes found, it can be said that positive experiences prevailed, highlighting the quality and humanization during normal birth. Conclusions: From the development of this research, it can be seen that there was a greater proportion of Brazilian immigrant women in Portugal with reports that highlighted favourable aspects in the context of childbirth care, finding nuances such as acceptance, qualified listening, professionalism and humanization of the team of professionals who accompanied them.
