Background: In recent decades, the concern with nursing practice environments and patient safety has gained importance on a global scale, becoming a priority for several healthcare organisations. Collaborative work has emerged with increasing relevance among the characteristics with a significant impact on both areas. Aim: To analyse the contribution of collaborative work to the promotion of positive nursing practice environments and patient safety culture in primary health care settings. Materials and Methods: This review was conducted according to the methodology for scoping reviews proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute and follows the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). Results: The review included seven studies that found that the relationship between nurses and the multidisciplinary team played a crucial role in creating positive and safe practice environments. Conclusions: Collaboration in primary healthcare is an essential component for establishing a positive nursing practice environment and ensuring safe healthcare.
