Abstract

Introduction: The complexity inherent in integrating a dietary regime into daily life, resulting from a change in health status, has a strong impact on the way people incorporate recommendations and act on them. Nurses play an important role in identifying nursing care needs in this area, as well as in training people to self-manage their dietary regimen. Objective: Map nursing knowledge related to data and diagnoses for care planning centred on the focus of attention – self-management of the dietary regimen. Methodology: It will be a scoping review based on the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology. The article selection process will be carried out by three independent reviewers. The databases where the research will be carried out will be, by EBSCO, CINAHL, Academic Search Complete, Mediclatin; MEDLINE; Web of Science; Scopus and PuBMed. Results: It is expected to map data and diagnoses with clinical utility for nurses to judge about the person's care needs in the field of self-management of the dietary regimen. Conclusion: The results of this review are expected to contribute to nursing knowledge representation of in the field of dietary self-management. It is expected to be a support for the nursing care process in this area of care.
