Desafios na incorporação de evidências na prática clínica de Enfermagem: uma scoping review

Abstract

Introduction: The integration of practices based on the most recent scientific evidence (EBP) into clinical nursing practice is crucial in ensuring continuous improvement in the quality and safety of the care provided. However, nurses face numerous challenges when translating this evidence into practice contexts. It is essential to redesign academic projects, integrating nursing students in the transfer of knowledge, promoting the use of evidence in the development of sustained skills. Objectives: Map scientific evidence on the challenges that nurses face in incorporating evidence-based practices. Material and Methods: Scoping Review, based on the methodology of The Joanna Briggs Institute, version 2020. Research carried out: CINHAL and MEDLINE Complete (via EBSCOhost), Scielo, RCAAP and gray literature on Google Scholar. Where inclusion criteria suggest articles that emphasize; “EBP challenges for quality nursing care”, with free access, in Portuguese and English. Results and Conclusions: The evidence indicates numerous advantages when implementing EBP, seen as enhancing excellence in professional practice. However, EBP in nursing faces numerous barriers and challenges, of different but often interconnected aetiologies, in transposing findings into the contexts of clinical practice. Highlighting professionals' lack of confidence in applying new knowledge, gaps in academic training, the small number and low impact achieved by existing studies, or the adoption of unidirectional models of clinical supervision. Mentioning that updating nurses by regularly reading scientific articles contributes to the implementation of EBP.
