Introduction: Incivility is characterized as discourteous behaviour that violates workplace norms. It is described as deviant
behaviour, of low intensity, with a dubious intention to prejudice the employee. A behavioural and contextual target that arises
occasionally is related to conditioning the performance of clinical practice through ambiguity and conflict resulting from the
experience of uncertainty in clinical reasoning. Objectives: To explore the experiences of uncertainty in the clinical reasoning
process of perioperative nurses. Methodology: Descriptive phenomenological study, following Colaizzi's analysis. Results:
From the experiences of uncertainty in the clinical reasoning of perioperative nurses, the theme "incivility" emerged from
which five sub-themes stand out: moral harassment, disrespect for individuality, professional discredit, culture of condemning
error, interpersonal relationships of dependence and conditioning. Conclusion: Recognizing and interpreting experiences
of uncertainty could facilitate the development of individual adaptive responses to uncertainty and improve care practice
environments.
