Utilização da ferramenta ISBAR para a promoção da segurança do doente

Introduction: The use of ISBAR (Identification, Status, Background, Analysis and Recommendation) as a structured tool, together with organizational changes, can contribute to improving the quality of patient transfer and in turn, improve patient safety. Objective: Identify whether the ISBAR methodology promotes hospitalized patient safety. Methods: The article is assumed to be a systematic literature review, specifically a rapid review. A search was carried out in the CINAHL Complete and MEDLINE Complete databases. Of the 523 articles available in these databases, and after filtering, two articles were included in the review. Articles from the last five years, in English and Portuguese, were used as search and analysis criteria. Results: The use of the ISBAR tool improves communication, quality of care and patient safety. Conclusions: ISBAR is a validated and reliable communication tool that brings benefits, particularly in patient safety.
