Introduction: Several studies have identified the benefits of gamification in healthcare, particularly in the context of palliative care. The Pallium Game is a card game, which aims to serve as an initial step to clarify care goals, minimising barriers to communication between the multidisciplinary team, the person in a palliative situation and family. Objectives: To assess the perception of relatives of people in a palliative situation about the use of the Pallium Game during the care process; material and Methods: Descriptive, qualitative study, using a convenience sample of 12 relatives of people in a palliative situation admitted to a Portuguese palliative care unit was used. Data was collected using a form with open questions about the advantages and disadvantages of using the game. Content analysis was carried out with the support of artificial intelligence. Results and Conclusions: The participants were mostly female, aged between 26 and 72, children or spouses of the sick person. The game is seen by family members as a facilitator for tackling sensitive topics, expressing emotions and promoting discussion about end-of-life decisions. Some family members expressed their gratitude and suggested using it earlier. These results reinforce the benefits and potential of using the Pallium Game in the context of palliative care, which has already been documented in other studies.
